A buffet restaurant is always a good dining option when you want to try a bit of everything. But with all the choices out there, we always have to remember that not all buffet restaurants are created equal. There are some that completely stand out due to reasons like variety, quality of food and relaxing ambience. So you ask — which restaurants are the ones that stood out for us? Here are five of them.

Colony

Taking up the huge space that Greenhouse left when it shut its doors last year is Colony, Ritz Carlton’s latest dining concept. It is made up of seven conservatory kitchens offering different cuisines such as Chinese, Indian, Malay and Western; all these have helped shaped Singapore's dining scene today.

What’s on offer? You have the steam basket section, which serves noodles and soups, among other Asian delights; while you canfind the wok-fried delicacies at the wok station. Craving for more? The Tandoor section offers Indian meats, seafood and breads cooked in a traditional Tandoor oven.

The Dining Room

The Dining Room at Sheraton is probably one of the prettiest restaurants we’ve seen in Singapore. From the main dining room, you have a magnificent backdrop of the lush garden, rock pools and its signature waterfalls. This amazing setting sets the tone for an intimate and heart meal at the restaurant.

Views aside, it also offers a good selection of international fare, though not as extensive as other places. But the food’s quality more than makes up for it with stations like the seafood bar serving the freshest oysters, scallops and prawns; or the carvery section which offers roast beef, lamp rump and roast chicken. For those who can’t live without their chicken rice and nasi lemak, there’s also an assortment of local dishes to complete your dining experience.

Edge

This buffet restaurant at Pan Pacific sure knows how to spoil us, thanks to its impressive range of Asian and international dishes. To cater to all its offerings, it has seven open kitchens manned by different chefs who freshly prepare for you.

From the Asian section, you have a wide assortment of Chinese dim sum, satay and Tandoor meats; while international offerings include premium meats, seafood and desserts. Oh, there’s a wide assortment of French cheeses too.

Seasonal Tastes

Part of the lively buffet scene in Singapore is Westin’s very own Seasonal Tastes. Situated on the 32nd floor, it gives you a panoramic view of Marina Bay as you tuck into its sumptuous Asian and international fare.

Spread out over the seven interactive kitchens are cuisines which include Chinese, Japanese, Korean and European. There’s also a live pasta station where the chef is always ready to prepare your orders upon request. If you want to end your meal with sweets, you won’t be disappointed for there’s a galore of choices waiting for you at the dessert station.

The Line

It has been 20 years since we were first introduced to The Line; and until today, it remains asa favourite destination for unlimited servings of international fare served at its 16 theatre kitchens.

Choices include fresh salads and soups, Western and Asian roast meats, dim sum, foie gras as well as seafood on ice. Completing the feast are the European cheeses and international desserts displayed in the middle of the restaurant.
