Come 15 November, fans of Japanese-style breads can bid konnichiwa to renowned Japanese bakery Asanoya. The 81-year-old household name in Japan has opened its first outlet outside of Japan right here in Singapore. The Singapore outpost of Asanoya will play out as a bakery and cafe with a seating capacity for up to 80 people. While the cafe will serve up sandwiches, salads, wine, and Japanese beer – it's really the bread you'll want to make a beeline for. Signature offerings include the Karuizawa Raisin, a French-style bread studded with rum raisins; Fruits Rye, rye bread punctuated with orange peel, rum-infused raisins and nuts; and tea bread, which features sweetened milk infused with aromatic Earl Grey tea leaves.
