Linens, stemware and cutlery are well chosen. Lighting for the restaurant is sensitively designed and the seating arrangements provide for sufficient privacy from the next table. Overall, the design of the restaurant setting creates a casually elegant ambience.
The canelón is a small but flavourful beef and pork stuffed caneloni served in a rich truffle cream sauce. Every mouthful is lusciously delicious and the same recipe has been a top seller since 1869. The somewhat small size of the canelón is compensated by its tasty and well-seasoned flavours.
Lobster coca features generous slices of fresh and tasty lobster atop finely shaven vegetables on a square of puff pasty. It’s a very successful marriage of fresh and quality ingredients.

Service is pleasantly efficient at booking and upon arrival, and only warms up at the ordering of food. The waitress attending is well versed in the cuisine and is chatty, offering suggestions and explaining some of the seasonal specials. After ordering, service is brisk, and they mostly leave you alone to dine, without asking much for feedback. Overall, the impression one gets of the service there is mostly efficient and brisk.
This is a mid-priced restaurant that offers good value for the excellent ingredients and culinary skill offered. While it is not cheap by any standard, it gives good value for money spent.
