Setting

Even though it’s on level 3, the view is still charming. The interior exudes a modern oriental feel which befits the restaurant’s cuisine type.

Food

The dishes at Szechuan Court are anything but dull to the tastebuds. In fact, most of their specialities are spicy so for those who prefer milder flavours, you may want to switch to the dim sum menu.

Whet your appetite with the bite-sized poached prawn dumplings in vinegar. The Szechuan famous braised beef with enoki mushroom, beansprouts and leek in spicy peppercorn sauce is a fragrant main that goes perfectly with a bowl of rice (or two). At first taste, it’s seems easy on the palate but give it a few seconds and you’ll feel a numbing sensation on your tongue. This doesn’t mean you’ll put down your chopsticks and stop altogether; for spicy lovers, they’ll find this strangely addictive and impossible to stop.

Other dishes that go well with plain rice are the braised beancurd with minced pork in hot bean chilli sauce and the fragrant pan-fried string bean with dried shrimp and minced pork; the dried shrimp adds a touch of saltiness and crunch to the overall taste.

Wine

Wines are available upon request. I’d recommend pairing the Chinese food with tea instead of wine; just because the food here are more flavourful and spicy.

Service

The staff here are extremely friendly and their services are prompt. The staff pays close attention to all guests by refilling their glasses and replacing their cutleries swiftly.
